WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, Vt. — Former Brewer High School swimmer Jessica Hodsdon, now a swimmer for Bentley College, established a meet record this week-end competing in the 50 breast-stroke at the New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Championships.

The first-year college swimmer, in her win, clocked 29.68 seconds to erase the previous meet record set in 1999. In addition, she won the 100 breaststroke in a school-record time of 1:05.6.

Hodsdon and her Bentley team-mates were in second place in the team competition behind Keene State as the final events of racing opened Sunday evening.

Husson University swimmers also scored in the New England Intercollegiate Championship.

Erin Doucette recorded a ninth-place finish in the 50 butterfly (28.31). Doucette joined Eagle swimmers Amanda Mason, Meg Call, and Chelsea Michaud for a 16th-place finish in the 400 medley relay.

Mason placed 17th in the 200 back (2:21.6) and Call scored 15th in the 50 breaststroke (36.1).
