PORTLAND, Maine — Police in Maine’s largest city are investigating the shooting death of a 24-year-old man on an apartment house porch.

Portland police say they were called at 11:15 p.m. Wednesday after several gunshots were reported fired near the corner of Park Avenue and Weymouth Street.

Police say Sergi Mulongo was found on the outside porch of the building and was pronounced dead by rescue workers. Witnesses said they saw two men running from the area after the shooting.

According to WMTW-TV, Mulongo was the older brother of 21-year-old Yannick Mulongo, who is charged with manslaughter and driving under the influence in connection with a car crash last September that killed an 18-year-old passenger in his car.
