Is Orrington getting the best deal possible?

Orrington town officials have decided to accept Mallinckrodt’s plan to clean up the contaminated former HoltraChem site, even though environmental regulators want to impose a more thorough approach. Is this the right move? Are town officials wise to get

some sort of work done now, rather than wait several more years? Or should the town hold Mallinckrodt’s feet to the fire? Should the federal government step in with more remediation funds?
