Maine hockey knocks off UNH

  ORONO — The University of Maine men’s hockey team spotted New Hampshire a 2-0 first-period lead but roared back with four unanswered goals en route to a 6-3 victory at Alfond Arena Saturday night.
  Maine is now 14-9-3 overall, 11-6-2 in Hockey East while UNH fell to 13-10-4 and 12-5-3, respectively. Maine beat the league-leading Wildcats Friday night 3-2.
  Maine answered first-period goals by John Henrion and Peter Leblanc with second-period goals by Brian Flynn, Robby Dee, and Theo Andersson to take a 3-2 lead into the third period.
  Joey Diamond expanded the lead 4:36 into the third period before Phil DeSimone pulled UNH to within one. But Flynn iced the game with 1:38 remaining by converting on a breakaway with a wrist shot through Brian Foster’s legs.
  Gustav Nyquist added an empty-net goal for the Black Bears.
  Scott Darling finished with 27 saves for Maine while Foster made 34.
