AUGUSTA, Maine — The Camden Hills Windjammers placed six wrestlers in the top four to capture the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference title Saturday at Cony High School.
Camden Hills of Rockport compiled 187 points and was followed by Morse of Bath (160), Cony (148.5), Mt. Blue of Farmington (128), and Mount Ararat of Topsham (120) to round out the top five in the 21-team meet.
Coleman Powers (103 pounds) and Zach Fields (130) each captured individual titles to propel the Windjammers as Powers pinned Gary Stevens of Morse and Fields recorded a 7-5 decision over Dan DelGallo of Gardiner.
Brandon Rich (140) and Jacob Powers (160) each recorded second-place finishers for Camden Hills while Thomas Cassidy (125) captured a third place and R.J. Muir (152) recorded a fourth.
Also collecting individual titles were: Jordan Young (112) and Brent Waterman (119) of Belfast; Matt DelGallo (125) of Gardiner; Will Lundquist (135) and Thomas Vallee (189) of Cony; Kaleb Austin (140) of Skowhegan; Steven Genther (145) of Medomak Valley in Waldoboro; Revelin Goewey (152) of Maine Central In-stitute in Pittsfield; Dillon Tibbetts (171) of Oak Hill in Sabattus; Arthur Cavanaugh (215) of Morse; and Henry Chandler (285) of Mount Ararat.
Vallee was named the KVAC Most Outstanding Wrestler in Class A while Genthner collected the honor for Class B.
Bob O’Connor of Mt. Blue was named the league’s coach of the year in Class A and Shawn Guest of Morse took home the honor for Class B.
The other team scores included: Erskine Academy of South China 111, Oak Hill 107.5, Belfast 103, Gardiner 100, MCI 92, Medomak Valley 80, Skowhegan 54, Lincoln Academy of Newcastle 45, Oxford Hills of South Paris 37, Brewer 37, Brunswick 33, Nokomis of Newport 20, Mount View of Thorndike 18, Winslow 15, Bangor 11 and Lawrence of Fairfield 7.
