OLD TOWN – Anita “Neat” Parent Arsenault, 91, died Jan. 27, 2010, at an Orono health care facility. She was born April 27, 1918, in Old Town, a daughter of William and Amelia (Gagnon) Durette. Anita was an accomplished seamstress and designed many garments and suits for her daughters, son and clients. Anita was also an avid photographer and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed working with many friends at W.T. Grants. She is survived by daughters, Jacqueline Vafiades of Hancock, Germaine Stiffler and her husband, Robert, of Minot, Linda Campbell and her husband, John, of Dedham, and Bonita Grindle and her husband, James, of Milford; a special stepson, Joe Arsenault and partner, Darron Geel, of Brewer; stepchildren, Sharon Cole, Jean Stoneton and Wayne Arsenault; a sister, Loretta Currier of Old Town; very special friend, Rita Currier of Old Town; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Anita was predeceased by her first husband, Laurent Lion Parent; and her second husband, Harold “Lefty” Arsenault. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 31, at Holy Family Church, Parish of the Resurrection of the Lord, Old Town. Immediately after the service all are invited to gather at the parish hall for a light luncheon and continued fellowship.
