NEWPORT, Maine — The town will buzz with activity the weekend of Feb. 5-7 as it holds the 37th annual Snowmobile Ride-in to benefit Pine Tree Camp. Snowmobilers from all corners of the state are expected to make their way to Newport in support of the camp.
The weekend’s events will include an auction beginning at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
The Q106.5 Egg Ride, beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, will wind its way through downtown, arriving at the Sebasticook Valley Community Center at 11 a.m. in time for the chicken barbecue.
The annual Snowmobile Ride-in pageant starts at 1 p.m., and a public supper starts at 4:30 p.m. followed by a fireworks display.
On Sunday, Feb 7, the event will conclude with radar runs with the Sebasticook Valley Snowmobile Club as host. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m.

Since 1974, the Snowmobile Ride-in has raised more than $3.5 million in support of Pine Tree Camp. All proceeds from the weekend will benefit Pine Tree Camp, a summer camp for Maine children and adults with disabilities.
Established in 1945, the 280-acre camp on North Pond in Rome is fully adapted to meet the special needs of campers.
