Maine Guard to get Bangor training institute funds

The Associated Press

BANGOR, Maine — U.S. Sen. Susan Collins says the Maine Army National Guard will be getting $15.5 million for construction of the final phase of a Regional Training Institute at the Bangor Armed Forces Reserve Center.

The Maine Republican says in a news release the updated training facility will support members of the 240th Regiment. The money was included in a spending bill that was signed into law by the President last month.

The first phase of construction began last year. According to the news release, the facility will include classrooms, a student dormitory, a cafeteria, and athletic and training facilities.
