ELLSWORTH, Maine — State police are investigating a possible stabbing incident that took place sometime Sunday.

Few details of the incident were available Monday, Maine State Police Trooper Gregory Roy said Monday afternoon. The location of the incident was uncertain.

The victim, a 21-year-old indigent man, came to Maine Coast Memorial Hospital early Monday morning with what appeared to be a knife wound. The man had not reported the injury and it was the hospital that notified police. The injury was not serious.

The victim has not been forthcoming with information about the incident, which remains under investigation.
