What should happen with the Bangor Museum and Center for History?

Backers of the museum raised — and spent — $3 million to renovate the former Merchants Bank Building. Now they say the space on Broad Street needs too much work and they may abandon the donated building. Meanwhile, most of the museum’s collection remains in storage. Does Bangor need a museum? Should it cost a lot more than $3 million? Where should it be located?
