SOUTHWEST HARBOR – Juanita “Polly” Savage, 87, died peacefully Jan. 12, 2010, with friends and family by her side at a Bangor hospital. She was born April 11, 1922, in Gouldsboro, daughter of Ralph and Valora (Robbins) Parritt. Polly moved to Southwest Harbor as a young child. She worked at Stinsons Canning Co. for many years and later for several restaurants in the Southwest Harbor area. She also worked on Cranberry Isle for six years as a housekeeper for the Murch’s. Polly loved to crochet and collect teddy bears. She belonged to the Women’s Auxiliary of the American Legion of Southwest Harbor. Polly is survived by her daughters, Nancy Soukup and her husband, Jay, and Frances Reed and her husband, Ralph; two grandchildren, Ebony and Marlena; and a son, Sonny Ashworth, all of Southwest Harbor.
