BREWER – E. Frances (Cahill) Baumann, wife of the late Carl S. Baumann of Bangor, died Jan. 4, 2010. She was born in Bangor, the daughter of John H. and Ellen (Griffin) Cahill. Frances was a devout member of St. Mary’s Parish and a member of St. Mary’s Sodality Council. For many years, she was a beautician and owner and operator of her own salon. She is survived by one sister, H. Louise Cahill of Bangor; and cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Eric and Elaine Butler of Massachusetts, and Mr. and Mrs. William and Jacqueline McGrath of Rhode Island. She is also survived by Margaret M. Samways of Bangor, and John and Kathleen Samways of Rhode Island and their daughter, Margaret Leigh Samways, of London. She was predeceased by her infant daughter, Mary Ellen; her husband, Carl; Mr. and Mrs. John and Helen Samways; her brother-in-law and sisters-in-law. Friends may visit 2-4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 8, at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Ohio Street, Bangor. A time of fellowship will be immediately afterward at the parish center and burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 768 Ohio St., Bangor, ME 04401 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
