Maine wardens search lake, other areas, for teen

The Associated Press

CHINA, Maine — The Maine Warden’s Service has brought in scuba divers and air boat crews to help search China Lake for a snowmobiler who has been missing for four days.

Wardens say they discovered snowmobile tracks on the ice on Monday that headed to a stretch of open water, but there is no indication the tracks were left by the sled driven by 18-year-old Richard Jackson.

Jackson was last seen on Friday night when he left a repair shop and headed home. Wardens say they don’t know if he tried to cross the lake or rode around.

Warden Col. Joel Wilkinson says wardens and volunteers are continuing to search for Jackson in areas away from the lake as well.
