Man on bail arrested second time for assault

BELFAST, Maine — A Stockton Springs man already on bail for domestic violence assault was arrested on charges he assaulted the same woman Monday.

Kirt Damon Jr., 20, was charged with domestic violence assault and violation of bail conditions after the incident at Penobscot Terrace, Police Chief Jeffrey Trafton said Tuesday.

Damon was arrested in Belfast for domestic violence assault in July and was released on bail. His bail conditions forbade him from having contact with the female victim or engaging in criminal behavior while free. He violated both of those conditions, Trafton said.

Damon was taken to Waldo County Jail where bail was set at $500 for the domestic violence assault. He is being held without bail for violating the conditions of his earlier release.
