Is it time to consider lowering the drinking age?

A recent death of a 20-year-old who succumbed to the elements during a drinking party on Mount Desert Island has prompted some to suggest lowering the drinking age so that young adults can learn to drink responsibly and safely. Does this tragedy make the case

for lowering the legal drinking age, or does it suggest the current age limit is correct and

stricter enforcement is needed? Or does the death have nothing to do with the law? What do you think would happen if the drinking age were lowered to 19?
