FORT FAIRFIELD and PRESQUE ISLE – Mary Ellen Wilson, 71, wife of Eugene E. Wilson, passed away Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 15, 2009, at a Presque Isle health care facility, after an extended illness. She was born Dec. 17, 1937, in Caribou, the daughter of David and Vivian (Haney) Drake. Mary moved to Fort Fairfield as a child and was raised by her grandmother, Ellen Haney. She was a graduate of Fort Fairfield High School, Class of 1955, and was married to Eugene E. Wilson, Jan. 25, 1957. Mary was a member of Fort Fairfield United Pentecostal Church and a charter member as well as a life member of Fort Fairfield VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Post No. 6187. She was predeceased by her mother, Vivian (Haney) Drake Lint; and one brother, Patrick Murphy. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Eugene E. Wilson of Presque Isle; her father, David Drake of Worcester, Mass.; one son, Bruce Wilson of Bangor; one daughter, Sally Wilson of York; one brother and sister-in-law, David and Clara Lint of Orono; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18, at Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield, where a funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, with the Rev. Clark Jalbert officiating. Spring interment will take place at Union Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will be held immediately after the funeral service at VFW Paul Lockhart Post No. 6187, 64 Presque Isle St., Fort Fairfield.
