BANGOR — Brock Bradford hit a running scoop shot on a drive into the lane with 2.4 seconds left to give the Husson University men an 83-82 basketball victory over Elms College at Newman Gym Saturday afternoon.

Bradford, a senior guard from Kenduskeag, finished with 18 points while fellow senior Matt MacKenzie had 21 points and six rebounds.

Juan Maldonado came back from a knee injury suffered midway through the game to post a game-high 23 points to go with six rebounds, five assists and four steals for the Blazers of Chicopee, Mass.

Husson improves to 4-3 while Elms, which is currently ranked in the top 25 nationally among NCAA Division III teams, is 6-2.

Husson is on hiatus, schedule-wise, until Jan. 2.
