Car strikes parked police cruiser

The Associated Press

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine — Maine police say a car struck a parked police cruiser from behind and forced it into another stationary police car as officers had just taken someone into custody for operating under the influence.

South Portland Officer Seth Page was thrown away from one of the cars and was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries early Saturday. A 44-year-old woman driving the car that struck the cruiser was charged with operating under the influence. She and a passenger in her car also were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police were still investigating the crash.
