Lights of Hope to raise funds for CancerCare

BREWER, Maine — Mainers whose lives have been touched by cancer are invited to honor their loved ones by purchasing a light on the Lights of Hope holiday tree outside the new Lafayette Family Cancer Center in Brewer. The public is invited to a tree-lighting ceremony at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17.

The annual Lights of Hope tribute raises funds for the CancerCare of Maine program. The program is in the process of relocating from Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor to the Lafayette Family Cancer Center in Brewer, which celebrated its grand opening last week.

The names of those honored by the purchase of a light will be listed at CancerCare of Maine, and donors will receive a card to send to those who have been honored or their family members.

Last year, the Lights of Hope campaign raised $20,000 for technology and support services for CancerCare of Maine.
