BLUE HILL — Peninsula Power, a community-owned, not-for-profit organization seeking to develop a community wind power project in the area, will host a wind power discussion with former Maine Gov. Angus King at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, at the Music Room at George Stevens Academy.

King will talk about Maine’s wind resources in a video-conference speech titled “Maine Energy Poker: Do We Have Aces and Eights or a Royal Flush?”

King is a strong proponent of wind power, but has been critical of community wind projects like the one proposed by Peninsula Power, because of what he sees as unfavorable economic conditions.

Former Stonington Town Manager Richard Avery will moderate a discussion after King’s speech.
