GUILFORD – Loretta D. Davis, 78, died Dec. 6, 2009, at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. She was born June 7, 1931, in Cleveland, daughter of John and Gertrude (Bartl) Urgeleite. Loretta was raised in the Cleveland area and met her husband, Gordon, while working at the Cadillac plant, after Gordon’s discharge from the Marine Corps, after World War II. After their marriage in 1953, they returned to Gordon’s hometown, Parkman. They then moved to Guilford and started the furniture business, along with Gordon’s brother and his wife, Harold and Beverly Davis. They continued to operate the business until 1995, when they sold the business to their son, Tony. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was predeceased by her husband; and a grandson, Michael. She is survived by two sons, Tony and his wife, Patricia Davis, and Scott Davis, all of Guilford; a daughter, Kathleen Davis of Hawaii; a brother, Larry Wiesner of Florida; a sister-in-law, Beverly Davis of Parkman; and twin granddaughters, Courtney Davis and Christine Davis, both of Guilford. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11, at Crosby & Neal, 21 Oak St., Guilford. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, at Guilford United Methodist Church.
