Census bureau to hire in Maine

The Associated Press

PORTLAND, Maine — The U.S. Census Bureau is hanging out the help wanted sign in Maine.

U.S. Rep. Chellie Pingree says the Census Bureau is accepting applications for the bureau’s 10-year survey to determine how many people live in the U.S., who they are and where they reside.

Census takers will locate households and conduct brief interviews with residents. Those hired will work between 20 and 40 hours per week, with pay starting at $13.25 an hour.
