PARIS, Maine — A judge has declared a mistrial in the case of a Waterford man charged with kidnapping and sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl because of questions about Internet posts the alleged victim had been making.

The Lewiston Sun Journal says the attorney for 47-year-old Gregory Kenneth Turner said the posts would cast doubt about the credibility of the alleged victim.

Defense attorney Leonard Sharon said Turner’s wife would have to authenticate the documents, but a prosecutor said she would be unable to do so.

Turner is accused of holding the girl against her will in December 2007 and sexually assaulting her in two locations. He has pleaded not guilty.

Turner still faces charges. printed on August 16, 2017
