GUILFORD and MILO – Opel J. (Bickford) Rollins, 87, beloved wife of the late Elden Rollins and dear mother and grandmother, passed from her loving family to her heavenly home Nov. 26, 2009, to be with her Lord and Savior. She was born Oct. 17, 1922, in Abbot, daughter of Ernest and Abbie (Gerrish) Bickford. She and her siblings attended Washington Elementary School and Upper Abbot Baptist Church. She later attended Guilford High School, where she and her husband, Elden, graduated in the Class of 1940. She was employed variously at the Ben Franklin Store, Hathaway Shirt Co., Guilford Town Office and Key Bank. Since Elden’s death in 2002, Opel resided in Milo and at Sebec Lake with her daughter, Jean. She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Lorene and Merrill Bridges of Parkman, Jean and Erwin Dellaire of Milo and George and JoAnne Rollins of Massachusetts; seven grandchildren, Carla and Patrick Eutsler, Teresa and Kyle Covel, Susan and Matthew Griffith, Eric and Jami Dellaire, David and Erin Bridges, Carrie and Drew Nelson, and John Elden Rollins; 12 great-grandchildren, Kaitlin, Joshua and Jonathan Covel, Abby, Ben, Jackson and Noah Dellaire, Adam and Isaac Eutsler, Billy and Ruth Opel Griffith, and Samuel Elden Bridges; a brother, Hugh Bickford; a sister, Barbara Whiting, three sisters-in-law, Iva Bickford, Elizabeth Bickford and Alice Rollins; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, parents; a sister, Gwendolyn Minnie Bickford; and brothers, Eugene, Ivory and Frank Bickford. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, at Crosby & Neal, 21 Oak St., Guilford, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Isaiah Hill officiating. Burial will be at Abbot Village Cemetery.
