CUTLER – Geraldine Dorothy (Ramsdell) Landry “Tootsie,” 78, passed away Nov. 27, 2009, surrounded by her loving family at her home. She was born Sept. 13, 1931, in Cutler, the daughter of Carroll and Mabel (Prevost) Ramsdell. She will be fondly remembered as a wonderful mother, wife and friend. She was a hard worker, working for many years as a nurse’s aide, factory worker and making wreaths to support her family anyway she could. She was an animal lover. It was not uncommon for her to take in stray animals, and always have a smile for her kids when they brought home another one. She will be sadly missed by her faithful dog, Bailey. She is survived by her husband, Richard Landry; sons, Randy Ramsdell and wife, Brenda, and Richard Landry Jr. and wife, Joyce, both of East Machias; daughters, Lisa Ackley and husband, Joe, of East Machias, Juanita Boyd and husband, Dennis, of Cutler, Linda Boone and husband, Dan, of Bangor, Patty Colby of New Hampshire; a daughter-in-law, Terry Ramsdell of East Machias; grandchildren, Mandy Ramsdell, Jason Ramsdell, Shana Ramsdell, Ashlee and Chelsee Ackley, Donnie and Eddie Landry, all of East Machias and Kellie Kilton and husband, Adam, of Roque Bluffs; a sister-in-law, Jeanette Ramsdell of East Machias; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Howard Ramsdell Jr.; and a brother, Richard Ramsdell. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, at Ramsdell Cemetery, Holmes Bay.
