ROCKLAND, Maine — A woman apparently suffering from low blood sugar Thursday afternoon reportedly caused a car accident with nearly $4,000 in damage, according to the Rockland Police Department.

Barbara Riley, 81, of Rockland was driving a Ford station wagon on Union Street at 2:53 p.m. when the vehicle swerved onto the sidewalk, back onto the road, then onto a lawn and on the road again, where it collided with a Jeep SUV driven by Eve Murray of Matinicus.

That vehicle received $900 in damage and Riley’s station wagon had $3,000 in damage, according to the police report. Neither was injured in the crash. printed on August 16, 2017
