HERMON, Maine — The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal accident Sunday morning on Route 2.
Thomas Frost, 77, of Hermon died shortly after 8 a.m. when his pickup truck left Route 2 near the New Boston Road, went down a steep embankment and struck some trees, Sheriff’s Deputy Bob Pelletier said.
Frost was headed east on Route 2 away from his home when witnesses reported his truck left the road, the deputy said.
No other vehicles were involved.
Frost was wearing a seat belt, according to Pelletier.
