E PLANTATION, Maine — Investigators are seeking the public’s help to identify whoever is responsible for looting an Aroostook County construction site in September.

The Aroostook County Sheriff’s Department has listed the incident as the Aroostook County Crime Stoppers Crime of the Month.

Sgt. Shawn Van Tasel of the Sheriff’s Department said Friday the incident took place between Sept. 17 and 21.

According to Van Tasel, the theft took place at a woods operation site in the Burnt Land Stream area of E Plantation.

Sylver Logging Inc. reported that tools and equipment were taken from a school bus that was used for equipment storage.

The thieves broke into the bus and removed a number of items, including a suitcase-style welder with a red case and several cordless impact wrenches. They also took wrenches, socket sets, welding rods and a turbo chain saw.

Police are urging anyone with information on the crime to notify Crime Stoppers.
