OLD TOWN, Maine — An Old Town man faces a felony drug charge after state drug agents and local police conducted a raid Monday night at his Main Street home.

Christopher Daley, 22, has been charged with trafficking in MDMA, more commonly known as Ecstasy, a Class B felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $20,000, Maine Drug Enforcement Agency Division Commander Darrell Crandall said Wednesday.

After his arrest, Daley was taken to Penobscot County Jail in Bangor. He was released from jail Wednesday morning after posting $12,500 cash bail, a jail official confirmed.

According to Crandall, Daley was arrested after MDEA agents and members of the Old Town Police Department executed a search warrant at his home.

The search yielded approximately 60 Ecstasy tablets valued at $900, 1½ pounds of marijuana, a small amount LSD and psilocybin mushrooms, and a mushroom growing operation. Authorities also seized $3,100 in cash alleged to be proceeds from drug sales. Daley has been charged so far only with trafficking in Ecstasy. Addi-tional charges are under consideration by the Maine Attorney General’s Office, Crandall said.

Crandall said Daley’s arrest was the culmination of an investigation led by MDEA that began about two months ago, when agents started buying MDMA tablets from Daley on the Eastern Maine Community College campus in Bangor, where he is a student.

Agents also bought MDMA from Daley at his residence in Old Town, Crandall said.

Members of the Old Town police, Bangor police and University of Maine public safety department assisted MDEA officials.
