Hoxsie helps West edge East boys 5-4

HAMPDEN, Maine — The boys and girls West Senior All-Star teams swept their East counterparts in the Maine Soccer Coaches Senior Bowl on Sunday.

The West Senior boys defeated the East 5-4 while the West Senior girls topped the East 6-2.

In the boys game, Trevor Hoxsie of Scarborough scored two goals to lead the West to the victory. Ben Brewster of Cape Elizabeth, Alec Dunn and Kyle Lucas of Falmouth each added a goal.

Ebrahim Fazell of Yarmouth notched three assists for the West while Ted Russell of Greely and Gabe Hoffman-Johnson of Falmouth each had one. Goalkeepers for the West were Tennessee Peters of Scarborough, Matt Langadas of Lake Region, Chris Gillespie of Waynflete and Nathan Hopkins of Vinalhaven.

Justin Pierel of Mount View tallied a goal and an assist to pace the East. Jack Davis of Belfast, Matt Duhaime of Ellsworth and Dylan Keller of Mount View each added a goal.

Ryan Hall of Erskine Academy and Zach Emeigh of Ellsworth each posted an assist for the East. In goal were Pete Morrell of Brunswick, Dillon Kingsbury of Presque Isle and Bryce Colbeth of Washington Academy.

In the girls game, Lindsay Wilson of Gorham netted three goals to lead the West. Kristi Zarrilli of Gorham, Ashley Beaulieu of Lisbon and Elizabeth Fischmann of Yarmouth added one goal apiece. Goalkeepers were Jamie Moody of Greely, Chelsea Meyers of Lakes Region and Julia Pope of Waynflete.

Courtney Langley of Lawrence and Jordyn Mallett of Winslow each scored a goal for the East. Courtney Churchill of Fort Fairfield grabbed an assist. In goal was Taylor Baker of Ashland.
