PEMBROKE, Maine — A verbal argument between a brother and sister escalated Saturday morning until the sister allegedly punched and head-butted the brother.

Dina Francis, 27, of Perry, was charged with assault and criminal mischief by Maine State Trooper Miles Carpenter.

The duo were in the back seat of a friend’s car, Carpenter said, when they began arguing about 8:30 a.m. Somewhere between Indian Township and Pembroke the driver stopped the car, the victim got out and then got back in, and the argument continued.

By the time the car reached the Mobil station in Pembroke, the verbal fight had turned violent. Once through with her brother, Francis allegedly threw several bottles at the windshield of the car, breaking it.

Initial reports indicated that a rifle may have been involved and that someone attempted to run the victim over with the car, but Carpenter said those allegations were untrue.

Carpenter was assisted at the scene by the Pleasant Point Police Department and the Washington County Sheriff’s Department.

Carpenter said alcohol consumption was involved.
