It’s truly a family affair in Winterport this weekend and next, when Winterport Open Stage tackles its first-ever musical in its 15-year history. “Free To Be You and Me,” the 1970s children’s musical conceived by Marlo Thomas and directed for WOS by Jeri Misler, will go up starting this Friday at Wagner Middle School. Cast members range from ages 8 to 45, and come from a variety of backgrounds in the community. A father-daughter team and a mother-daughter team, plus several student-teacher relationships, exist among the cast. The show itself centers around children’s exploration of feelings, imaginations and relationships. Adults play babies, children play adults and everyone plays a variety of roles within the hourlong musical. Performances are set for 7 p.m. Nov. 13 and 20, and matinees on Nov. 14, 15, 21 and 22. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and students, and $5 for children age 5 and under. For more information, visit www.winterportopenstage.com.
