17 Attend Vigil for Slain Newport Man

Surrounded by her family and friends, Sandra Goodrich quietly wiped away her tears during Sunday evening's candlelight vigil on Sebasticook Lake in Newport .  Seventeen people sang and prayed as they stood in a circle. The vigil was held in the memory of Sandra's husband, Perely Goodrich Sr., who was alledgedly killed by their son Perely Goodrich Jr. in late October.  &quotHe [Perley Sr.] was always joking and he was such a wonderful person." said Sandra's friend Margaret Kennedy.
