What does HydroQuebec’s purchase mean for Maine?

A dramatic reshuffling of the energy world occurred when HyrdoQuebec announced it planned to purchase New Brunswick Power. Does this mean Maine will be a pass-through only for hydro power feeding the southern New England market? Does this mean Maine’s opportunities for building wind power farms and exporting energy are weakened? Does this put Maine in a weaker bargaining position with the Canadian companies? Should Maine form a coalition of energy producers and join with the new company?
