NEWPORT – Perley Glenwood Goodrich Sr., 76, died at his residence. He was born July 7, 1933, in Wellington, a son of Chester Goodrich and Freda Potter. He graduated from Cornville High School and served for eight years in the U.S. Army. Perley was a self-employed woodsman and also worked for many years at Dexter Shoe Co., as a night watchman. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. Perley was a longtime member of Church of Christ, Newport. He is survived by his wife, Sandra (Carter) Goodrich of Newport; two sons, Perley Goodrich Jr. of Newport and Kenneth Goodrich of Corinna; a daughter and husband, Nancy and Ben Watson of Stetson; and seven grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main St., Newport, with Preacher Andy Owens officiating. Those who wish may leave written tributes at www.CrosbyNeal.com.
