ANSON, Maine — State Police say the shooting death of a man found inside his pickup truck Saturday afternoon is being termed “suspicious.”

The body of 60-year-old Everett Cameron was found about 4 p.m. in his truck, parked along the Town Farm Road in Anson, near his house, according to a press release from Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland.

An autopsy was under way Sunday at the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Augusta.

There is no indication that the death was a suicide, McCausland said Sunday morning.

“We’ll wait to hear from the autopsy results,” he said.

Detectives, Maine game wardens and Somerset County deputies responded to the shooting scene and were there most of the night. Detectives were on the scene Sunday morning.

Cameron’s truck was towed to the State Police Crime Lab in Augusta where it will be examined.

The Town Farm Road is located off from Route 234 in Anson.
