YARMOUTH, Maine — The Dexter Tigers won their sixth state championship under head coach Margaret Veazie with a 1-0 victory over West champion North Yarmouth Academy in the Class C state final field hockey game Saturday afternoon.

Senior captain Callie Mountain scored the game’s only goal with 2:07 left in regulation. Sophomore goalie Maicee Gustin notched a shutout with nine saves on 12 shots.

In the other state finals, Gardiner defeated York 2-0 in the Class B contest, and Scarborough ended an eight-year state championship run by Skowhegan with a 2-1 overtime victory in a rematch of last year’s Class A final.
