BANGOR – Ruth A. (Morrison) Perkins, 75, passed away Oct. 24, 2009, at home after a long illness, with her loving family at her side. Ruth was born May 2, 1934, in Orono, the daughter of George and Gladys (Thorne) Morrison. She attended school in Orono. She married Lawrence (Buddy) Perkins, Dec. 1, 1951, and began a long and loving partnership lasting 58 years. Ruth had many hobbies and interests, but her mission in life was to provide love, companionship, moral guidance and dispense discipline as needed, especially to the two oldest boys. Ruth unselfishly committed her life to attending to the needs of the entire family. Her worldly presence will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her, but her spiritual guidance will be with us for many generations. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Lawrence “Buddy” Perkins; sister, Rose Marie Oliver; four children and their spouses/companions, Golden and Mary-Ann, Rick and Barb, Robby and Barb, and Gail and Rob; seven grandchildren and their spouses/companions, Rick, Roger and Michelle, Gina and Ced, Robby and Monica, Reis, Camille, and Guy, seven great-grandchildren, Stacey, Cory, Rex, Ricky, Tyler, Bailey and Troy. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by three brothers, Jim, Bill and Johnny; and seven sisters, her twin Jeanne, Roberta, Margaret, Janey, Betty, Janice and Eleanor. Services will be private for the family. Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.BrookingsSmith.com.
