CASTINE, Maine — Fullback Jim Bower passed the 3,000-yard mark for career rushing en route to 154 in the game and led Maine Maritime Academy to its fourth straight victory.
Six different players scored touchdowns as the Mariners upended Framingham State 49-21 in a New England Football Conference game under a steady, soaking rain at Ritchie Field Saturday afternoon.
Nick Bourassa also eclipsed the 100-yard rushing mark with 119 plus two touchdowns as the 6-1 Mariners’ option attack gained 461 total rushing yards.
Even with its second unit defense playing most of the fourth quarter, MMA was able to limit the 4-4 Rams to 234 total yards of offense.
Josh Harris led the Rams with 102 yards rushing.
