PORTLAND, Maine — Best-selling author and Democratic National Committee Treasurer Andrew Tobias is the keynote speaker at the state party’s annual Jefferson-Jackson Dinner.
Tobias has written extensively on business, financial and political matters, and has been treasurer of the national party since 1999. The fundraising dinner is Saturday night at the Maine Irish Heritage Center in Portland.
Also on hand will be Massachusetts Congressman Barney Frank, as well as Maine Gov. John Baldacci and the state’s two U.S. representatives, Mike Michaud and Chellie Pingree.
Maine Democratic Party officials say about 200 people are expected at the event.
