CHESTER A. SAULMER

NEWPORT – Chester A. Saulmer, 78, died Oct. 22, 2009. He was born Aug. 3, 1931, in Dover-Foxcroft, a son of Perley and Olive (Robbins) Saulmer. He worked for many years as a herdsman for Veazieland Farms, Corinna, and several other area dairy farms. Chet enjoyed hunting, fishing and going for long walks. He is survived by a son, Lee and wife, Jenny Saulmer, of Palmyra; a stepdaughter, Laurie Chabot of Dexter; a stepson, Greg Thurston of Livermore; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Ralph, Ivan and Victor; and three sisters, Sandra, Norma and Betty. A graveside committal service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, at Dover Cemetery, Dover-Foxcroft. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.
