CALAIS – Beatrice “Bea” Lillian Crooker, 91, passed away Monday, Oct. 5, 2009, at Atlantic Rehab & Nursing Center, Calais. Bea was born Jan. 16, 1918, in Cooper, daughter of the late Fred and Ethel (Dodge) Clark. She was a registered nurse with Bath Memorial Hospital for many years. She and her husband, Laurence, owned cottages on Moosehead Lake, Rockwood. Upon retiring, they moved to Sarasota, Fla. Not ones to sit around, they owned and operated Larry’s Real Estate, Sarasota, Fla., for many years. Bea was a member of Perry Congregational Church and Eastern Star. She enjoyed gardening, traveling and being with her family. In addition to her parents, Bea was predeceased by her husband, Laurence; her brother, William Clark; sister, Nellie Clark; and her faithful feline companion, Noelle. Surviving are her sister, Virginia Walker and her husband, Ewal, of Robbinston; two nieces, Dianne Jundt of Ocala, Fla., and Lea Sullivan of Robbinston; a nephew, Randy Clark of Ocala, Fla.; great-nephews, Timmy Jundt and his wife, Carla, of Alexander and Timmy Clark of Ocala, Fla.; and a great-niece, Desiree Clark of Ocala, Fla. A celebration of Bea’s life will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 26, at Perry Congregational Church, Shore Road, Perry. Burial will be afterward at Evergreen Cemetery, Cooper.
