Easton man charged in burglary, assault case

EASTON, Maine — State police arrested one suspect Wednesday in connection with a home invasion and robbery that took place in September, and are still on the lookout for two others thought to be connected to the crime.

State Police Lt. Darrell Ouellette said in a press release Wednesday that Arthur Gray, 19, of Easton had been pursued by police and was apprehended during the day.

He was arrested leaving his residence and was taken to the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton.

Ouellette said three suspects were involved in the residential home invasion and robbery, which occurred on Sept. 28 in Easton.

During the incident, the victim was assaulted and robbed.

The suspects were shot at by the victim. It is unknown whether any of the assailants suffered injuries.

Gray was charged with Class B burglary, Class D theft, Class A robbery, Class D assault and Class E violation of bail.

A Class B crime is punishable by up to 10 years in prison, Class C up to five years in prison, Class D less than one year in prison and Class E up to six months in prison. All also are punishable by fines.

The press release did not specify what Gray was on bail for.

Investigators are still pursuing leads on the two other individuals involved.
