ROCKLAND, Maine — The Knox-Waldo Regional Economic Development Council has announced that Alan Hinsey will return to his position as executive director of the agency the first of next month.
“I am happy to announce that Alan Hinsey will be coming back to lead the KWRED organization. Alan’s economic development expertise, plus his in-depth knowledge of the business in the midcoast area will be a tremendous help as we continue our efforts to build our economy,” said Jim Patterson, vice chair of the KWRED Council. “Now more than ever, we need a coordinated regional approach to business and economic development — and now more than ever, Alan is the right person to help us implement successful regional strategies.”
Hinsey stepped down from his position with KWRED last October when he formed ACH Productions LLC and became the producer and host of “Mainebiz Sunday,” which airs statewide every Sunday on WCSH 6 in Portland and WLBZ 2 in Bangor. Hinsey will continue as host of the weekly TV show.
“We believe that Alan’s statewide exposure and connection to a broad range of business strategies all across Maine can only strengthen our regional economic development efforts here in Knox and Waldo counties,” said Patterson.
The municipal managers of Belfast, Camden and Rockland all serve on the KWRED board, and all three supported Hinsey’s choice to lead the regional economic development effort.
