Caribou Concert

Los Lonely Boys are one of the most popular bands to come out of Texas in years. Their top 40 hit “Heaven” has been heard on radio stations across the country, and the band’s work with Willie Nelson and Carlos Santana has cemented them as leading purveyors of Texan-flavored rock. The band’s Maine fans, and fans of contemporary rock in general, will get a special treat tonight when the band plays at the Caribou Performing Arts Center, presented by the Caribou Performing Arts Council. Los Lonely Boys will perform an all-acoustic set, with guest artist Alejandro Escovedo. Escovedo, himself an acclaimed Texan musician and songwriter, cut his teeth in the San Francisco punk scene before combining his punk attitude with his Tejano roots in a long, interesting solo career. His songs “Castanets” and “Always a Friend” have been heard on radio and television stations regularly. The show starts at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15. Tickets can be purchased by calling 493-4278.
