Bravo’s real estate show a ‘Million Dollar’ dud

By Aimee Dolloff, Special to the BDN

It might be a “Million Dollar Listing” on the real-estate market, but for TV, it’s not worth a buck.

Bravo’s inside look at the tough high-stakes house selling market in Los Angeles might have been OK its first two seasons, but with the economy in the shape it’s in and most struggling to make ends meet, now is not the time to take pity on Realtors trying to unload multimillion dollar properties.

While it’s fun to look at the mansions they’re trying to sell before the market bottoms out, it’s also a little depressing to see the effect the economy is having on even the most well-off in our society. On the upside, things can’t be too bad if people still have millions to spend in the housing market.

Check it out starting at 11 p.m. Monday, Oct. 12, as Bravo follows three hot-to-trot real-estate moguls in some of California’s most exclusive Hollywood neighborhoods.

If you’ve ever dreamed of being a bartender, thinking it would be an easy gig, think again.

I won’t be giving you updates on this one since my 100-plus satellite channels don’t include the Fine Living Network, but for those of you who do tune in, “Bartender Wars” looks to be a fast-paced show with three New York City bartenders vying for the title as they compete each episode in a variety of challenges — pouring shots, mixing drinks and coming up with new concoctions. It all starts at 10:30 tonight.

And for the boys, I’ve got another season at the Playboy mansion with “The Girls Next Door.” Holly Madison, Bridget Marquardt and Kendra Wilson might be gone, but icon Hugh Hefner is moving in his new girls. He didn’t waste any time finding 19-year-old identical twins Karissa and Kristina Shannon and 23-year-old Crystal Harris to fill the spots as his new girlfriends.

Not one for the children, but the big boys (and girls) can tune in at 10 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11, on E!.
