BANGOR and GRAY – With family by her side, Beverly Jane Farnsworth Martin left this Earth Sept. 24, 2009, to be with the Lord and family. Beverly fought a long, courageous battle with cancer – she lost the battle but won the medal for bravery. She was born Sept. 30, 1937, daughter of George D. Farnsworth and Dorothy Bolduc Farnsworth. Beverly was a graduate of Bangor High School and Husson College. She worked for New England Telephone Co., AT&T, then Lucent Technologies as a sales manager until her retirement. She was a loving mother, sister and aunt. She was a giver, never a taker. All who knew her loved her and will carry her in their hearts forever. Beverly was a great fan of the Red Sox and New England Patriots. She loved to cook and excelled at it. She was affectionately known as “Mama Beverloni” to family and friends because of the delectable Italian feast she would put on each year at the Farnsworth compound at Pushaw Lake. Beverly was predeceased by parents, George and Dorothy Farnsworth; as well as her brother, Charles Farnsworth. Beverly is survived by loving son, Michael Williams of Gray; daughter, Kelly Williams of Parsonsfield; sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Linwood Feeney of Bangor; sister-in-law, Lois Farnsworth of Lady Lake, Fla.; special nieces, Karen Feeney, Laurel Feeney and Linda Grandinetti; special nephews, Christopher Feeney, Scott Feeney and Gary Farnsworth; many cousins, nieces, nephews and wonderful friends; and of course her chocolate lab, her constant companion, Snickers. Thank you to Maine Center for Cancer Research, Maine Medical Center and Gosnell House for their loving care. A very special thank you to her wonderful neighbors that were always there to check in and help in any way they could. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, at Martindale Country Club, 527 Beech Hill Road, Auburn. Directions are available at www.martindalecc.com. In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to their favorite charity or Dempsey Cancer Center, Central Maine Medical Center, Lewiston, ME 04240.
