Former Maine lawmaker Jalbert dies

LISBON, Maine (AP) — Maine and U.S. flags are flying at half-staff in Lisbon, hometown of former Maine state Rep. John Jalbert Jr. Jalbert, who was 84, died Tuesday.

Funeral services for Jalbert were scheduled for Thursday. Gov. John Baldacci, who served in the Legislature with Jalbert, ordered that flags fly at half-staff in Lisbon from dawn to dusk.

Jalbert served five terms in the Maine House of Representatives, from 1985 to 1991.
