6 students, 5 visitors summoned at UMaine

ORONO, Maine — Six University of Maine students and five visitors to the Orono campus were summoned over the weekend for underage drinking in three separate incidents.

The following students were issued summonses, according to Joe Carr, spokesman for the university: Deanna Jones, 19, Katherine Lane, 18, Charlotte Eaton, 18, and a 17-year-old, all of Cumberland Hall; and Haley Py, 19, and Nicole D’Andrea, 19, both of York Hall.

The university does not release the hometowns of students living on campus.

Derica Sawyer, 18, of Buxton, Kyle Huston, 19, of Lisbon Falls, Caleb Lussier, 18, of Standish, Charles Slevisky, 19, residence unknown, and Donovan Keelin, 19, residence unknown, also were charged with possession of alcohol by a minor.

Two students, Emily Chavis, 21, and Zachary Knox, 21, of Patch Hall, also were summoned for smoking marijuana over the weekend.

Theodore McDonald, 19, of Damariscotta was charged with violation of bail conditions after he was allegedly found smoking marijuana in the Ornamental Gardens. Information about why McDonald was on bail was not available Sunday.
