University of Maine offers night out for kids

ORONO, Maine — University of Maine student-athletes will host the 2009 Kids Night Out today in the University of Maine field house.

Children in grades K-8 can be dropped off from 5:30-6 p.m. and will be treated with various activities including basketball, dodgeball, swimming, arts and crafts and snacks to go with a movie. Children can be picked up anytime between 8:30 and 9 p.m.

The event is sponsored by the UMaine Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and costs $10 per child or $15 for two or more children from the same family. Parents are encouraged to sign their kids up now by visiting www.goblackbears.com or they may register at the event.
